The ML 800 series of lasers is a tried and true laser design. Originally designed and manufactured by Metrologic, we are very proud at Industrial Fiber Optics to continue producing this outstanding line of lasers. Designed with a sturdy metal enclosure and along the lines of classic laser design with integrated power supply this laser is an excellent choice for an industrial or educational application.

Industrial Fiber Optics presents the ML 815 — one of the smallest Class II helium-neon lasers manufactured today, and it's GREEN! This laser has excellent beam quality and beam pointing stability, making it perfect for general purpose laboratory work.

Since the spectral response of the eye is optimized more for green light than for red, this laser is ideal for observing how optic components effect the beam. Some examples are: interferometry, scattering, diffraction, and refraction. It is also, invaluable in making comparisons between how red light (633 nm) and green light (543 nm) are absorbed and respond to different mediums.

Features:

  • Hard-seal laser tubes for long life
  • Shock-resistant mountings
  • Durable extruded aluminum housing that protects the laser tube and power supply components
  • Two year limited warranty
  • Solid-state integrated power supply mounted on durable printed circuit board
  • Mechanical slide shutter over front aperture to block beam with having to turn off power supply (as required by CDRH)
  • Rear end cap with power switch indicator lamps, fuse holder and line cord with 3 prong grounded plug
  • Full-length rubber strips on the underside to prevent scratching and slipping on polished surfaces
  • Labels and safety features to meet all U.S. CDRH regulations
  • Power requirements 105 - 125 VAC 60 Hz
Suitable for experiments such as:

  • Viewing refraction in optical materials
  • Angle of incidence and reflection on mirror surfaces
  • Tyndall's light-guiding-in-water experiments
  • Scattering of light by small suspended particles
  • Critical angle determination in materials
  • Convergence and divergence in optical lenses

The green 542 nm wavelength is 4 to 6 times brighter for the same amount of radiant optical power than the standard 632.8 nm red emission wavelength of standard helium neon lasers.

For a higher powered green laser, please also consider our new ML 825 diode pumped solid state laser.
