This particular patchcord is within the recommended series for networks and drives requiring a very small bend radii that are outside the specifications of standard patchcords. The fiber in this patchcord is suitable for bend radii as small as 6 mm, and has moderate tensile strength and two jackets to allow moderate physical abuse and/or exposure to chemicals. Patchcord consists of a fiber cable with a multi-core fiber bonded together to create 1.0 mm optical bundle jacketed by two layers to polyamide material for an overall diameter of 2.2 mm, terminated with stainless steel SMA 905 connectors. These cables are higher priced than the standard 2.2 mm polyethylene and nylon jacketed series, but offer superior performance. These are not direct replacements for anything being sold commercially.
